-ESTABLISH GENERATION OF LOCAL AREAS TO ALLOW THE PRESERVATION, PROMOTION AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE Afro-Uruguayan culture AS A TOOL FOR SOCIAL AND CULTURAL INTEGRATION-
The implementation of the triangulation kultural - URUGUAY through a CSO (civil society organization ) comes from considering the objectives stated in its legal installation of the first cultural center in the department of Canelones. In order to serve a large population of African descent living in the department and create a space that promotes interracial and intercultural training for girls, boys and youths of different social, racial and gender betting on a real integration, taking as a point starting the respect for differences.
Afro-Uruguayan community was formed in the early stages of Uruguay from the presence of enslaved Africans. Many of its members were already present at the founding of the city of Cologne, 1680 or the city of Montevideo in 1726.
With the use of its labor force is formed and strengthened the economies of colonial Montevideo and the base of the first economy of independent Uruguay.
The presence of African descendants in the liberator was another major contribution to the construction of the nationality of URUGUAY.
